1. Purpose
These terms define the rights, duties, and responsibilities of the operator and users when using Clunk's website and browser games.
2. Definitions
- User means a person who plays the games, signed in or not.
- Account is the user record made when you sign in with Google or GitHub.
- Ranked game is a game whose result goes on the weekly leaderboard. Practice does not.
- Gold Block is the in-game allowance a ranked game costs. It is not sold and has no cash value.
3. Posting and changes
We post these terms at /terms. Changes state their reason and effective date and are announced 7 days ahead, or 30 days ahead for unfavorable or material changes. Users may stop using the service and ask for their account to be deleted before a change takes effect.
4. Service
- Browser games — Clunk Tower, Clunk Puzzle and Clunk Smash, with a weekly leaderboard. They are free, need no sign-in, and have no in-game purchases or ads (section 7).
- Mobile game apps — Clunk Tower, Hammerling, Hexa Garden and Glass Harbor. Each app has its own terms and privacy policy, and those apply to it (section 8).
5. Account and authentication
- The games work without signing in. Signed in, your nickname carries over between seasons and you play with the same records on every device (section 7).
- We do not create or store passwords. Sign-in uses Google or GitHub.
- The
clunk_auth_sessioncookie is HttpOnly, SameSite-limited, and lasts up to 7 days. - You can end this browser's Clunk sign-in at any time in Settings. Your Google or GitHub sign-in itself is managed by that provider.
- Do not share your account with others.
6. User duties
- Do not make records with automation or tampering, or get around the server's checks.
- Do not overload the service or bypass its limits.
- Do not use a nickname that section 7 does not allow.
- We may restrict use after notice, or immediately in an emergency, for violations.
7. Games, the weekly leaderboard and nicknames
- Games are free. A ranked game (Clunk Tower, Clunk Puzzle or Clunk Smash) costs one Gold Block; Gold Blocks refill for free at one every 30 minutes up to five. Sharing alone pays nothing: when a friend opens your link as a new player and finishes a ranked game, you get two (up to three friends a day, each friend once, never for your own player, account or network). Sending feedback with at least 10 characters (spaces not counted) pays two Gold Blocks once a Korea-time day (not for a face pick alone, and not for supporters, whose Gold Blocks are unlimited). One network can get it at most three times a day. From the third new player a network makes in a day, a new player starts with no Gold Blocks and refills the same way. Practice costs nothing. Gold Blocks are an in-game allowance with no cash value; they are not sold and cannot be refunded or transferred.
- The weekly leaderboard restarts every Monday at 00:00 Korea time and ranks each player by their best finished ranked run of the week. There are no prizes.
- A Clunk Puzzle ranked game lasts 3 minutes, and only the blocks placed within 3 minutes of the start count toward the score. The server replays the moves it is sent to work out the score; a game that reaches the server too late is not put on the leaderboard.
- Nicknames are public. Profanity, sexual or hateful terms, promotion of gambling or illegal activity, contact details or links, and names that impersonate the operator are not allowed; we may change or remove such nicknames without notice.
- Runs made with automation or tampering, or that fail server checks, are not ranked. We may remove cheating runs and players from the leaderboard.
- A nickname can belong to one player only (names that differ only in case or spaces count as the same). A nickname chosen without signing in is released when its season ends (Monday 00:00 Korea time) and others may take it; nicknames of signed-in accounts carry over.
- A signed-out player is identified by a value stored in the browser. Clearing site data or switching devices means the old nickname and records cannot be carried over. Signed in, you play with the same nickname, Gold Blocks and records on every device; the nickname that device used before you signed in is released, and a game in progress carries over to the account.
8. The mobile game apps
Clunk's mobile game apps are governed by each app's own terms, not by these. Their ads, the items they sell and refunds are described there.

9. Changes and interruption
We may change, maintain, or temporarily suspend the service. If we end the service entirely we give at least 30 days' notice.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Clunk is not responsible for loss caused by events outside its control, such as an outage of an outside service. Nothing limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
11. Privacy
Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy. Each mobile game app has its own privacy policy.
12. Disputes
These terms follow the law of the Republic of Korea. We first try to resolve disputes in good faith. Statutory consumer dispute bodies remain available.
